Agenda: Assessing the Implications of NATO Expansion on International Peace and Security in the Context of Disarmament and Geopolitical Stability
In order to maintain global security, peace, and geopolitical stability, NATO’s expansion is becoming more and more crucial.
NATO claims that by advancing democratic values, its expansion strengthens collective security, discourages aggression, and stabilises regions. But NATO’s eastward expansion is seen by Russia as a direct threat, which has raised tensions and the military presence.
The development might upset the balance of power in areas like Eastern Europe and have an impact on current and future arms control accords. In a divided world, delegates must strike a balance between a country’s right to select its security alliances and the requirement for regional and international stability.

Greetings, delegates! I’m Prishti Sangani, your DISEC Director at JBCN Senior MUN 2024. If I had to describe myself in one word, it would be ‘turbo’. Life for me, is nothing short of an exhilarating grand prix, and I’m always in the fast lane.
Beyond MUN and academics, I’m passionate about sports and cars—my need for speed is real. Whether I’m engaging in intense debates at Model UN or hitting the gym, I’m all about that grind mindset. As the legendary Zyzz said, “We go Jim.”
